MOR’s Hops & History program supports the museum’s Living History Farm by pairing historical talks on the Gallatin Valley’s brewing past with beer tastings from local breweries. On the last Tuesday of each summer month, the Tinsley House becomes the perfect backdrop for an evening of brewing history.  Now in its sixth season, enjoy a new addition of small plate dishes served alongside the evening tastings.

While you’re enjoying brews, explore the history of brewing both nationally and here in Montana with short lectures led by MOR's Curator of History, Michael Fox and Executive Director, Chris Dobbs.

For 2019, enjoy small plate dishes from the chefs of Pizza Campania and The Mint Café.

Do you have too many Hops & History mugs? We understand! Bring any Hops & History mug or pint from any year and receive $3 off your admission.

Take a look back at Montana’s pioneer brewers. Brewmasters needed experience, good sources of ingredients and a little luck to survive in Montana’s territorial days. There was always a market for their beer however, as hard-working miners, ranchers, farmers and community builders brought a taste for beer with them!
